Antinatalist films at this stage of history are uniquely difficult to classify as such, because the vast majority of them, it could be argued, fall under the heading of what might be considered ‘proto-antinatalism’, meaning a piece of media created before the term Antinatalism started being used as a philosophical term, (Roughly 2006) but that carries with it a strong anti-procreative theme. Like the AN music reference guide, this list could become perilously long if we include every example of anything with a remote Anti-Natal odor so Instead, I have chosen to include only those films that are indeed directly based on Antinatalist philosophy of some kind, or are movies about philosophers/ideas that were later recognized as Antinatalism years later and in some way have contributed to modern Antinatalist discourse. My one exception to this rule is the astounding Capernaum, which was made well after 2006, and possibly made in ignorance of Antinatalist philosophy, but deserves to be included here.
