Antinatalism International (ANI) is the world’s first explicitly anti-procreative international organisation. Founded in the summer of 2020 by a committed group of antinatalists (see Board of Directors below), ANI was established to help facilitate the entrance of antinatalist philosophy into the mainstream consciousness of society. ANI recognises the complexity of, and diversity of thought within the antinatalist community and as such does not act to be a spokesperson for the community, but hopes to facilitate the antinatalist community to become a stronger spokesperson for itself.

To be truly international, ANI will work to engage people from all regions and cultures of the world, breaking down language barriers in order to fully bring together anti-procreative thinkers of all stripes. Antinatalism is, at its core, the final civil rights movement: the right to not be brought into existence without consent, and it will need efforts from all corners of the globe to be fully realised.

Our Objectives

How we want to contribute to furthering anti-procreative thought

Resources & Education

Creating resources, and making existing resources more accessible (e.g. through translation), to benefit the antinatalist community and further outreach efforts in wider society.

Combating Stigma

Combating stigmas that surrounds antinatalism, being childfree or childless, the right to die, abortion, voluntary sterilisation, extinction via voluntary non-procreation and other viewpoints related to anti-procreative philosophy.

Normalising Antinatalism

Normalising and increasing awareness of antinatalism in mainstream society.

Strengthening Our Community

Helping to build and grow the global anti-procreative community and connecting those in with different perspectives.

Securing Dignity & Guardianship

Engaging in the wider effort to secure a basic dignity for individuals – both human and non-human – in life and death; this would include the right to die and the practice of non-exploitive, ethical adoption practices that centre around addressing the needs of the adopted, rather than the adopting.

Making Non-procreation More Accessible

Working to make non-procreation more practically accessible and supporting the use of birth prevention methods (e.g. increasing access to contraception, sterilisation services and abortion).

Study & Research

Conducting, or helping to facilitate, research into issues pertaining to non-procreation and antinatalism.

Opposing Assisted Reproduction Methods

Opposing the creation of, or the continuation of existing, assisted reproduction technologies and methods.

Discussing Extinction

Generating conversation around voluntary, ethical and balanced extinction.

Opposing the Breeding of Other Species

Opposing the breeding of sentient beings in other species.

Our Values

We encompass all forms of anti-procreative thought.

We condemn violence towards anybody. The only way to guarantee someone not to fall victim of violence is not create them.

We value people of all types, including, but not limited to, those of different races, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, sexes, disabilities and age.

We seek to model the fairness and justice that we want to see in the world, and for everyone.

We recognise the need to work collaboratively with like-minded individuals and organisations.

We act to facilitate the growth of anti-procreative groups around the world in an autonomous and democratic manner.

We have no affiliation with any political ideology or party.
